Tattoos
Is It OK to Get a Tattoo?
Although we've seen a resurgence in the popularity of tattoos and body piercings
in recent years, I believe that the Bible indicates that tattoos are wrong, based upon the following scriptures:
Do not offer the parts of
your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer
yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life;
and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. Romans 6:13
I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer
the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing
wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. Romans 6:19
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have
received from God? You are not your own; 1 Corinthians 6:19
Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:28
