Do We Become Angels After We Die?

No, humans do not eventually become angels. Many people believe that believers become angels when we die, but there is no Biblical evidence, or even suggestion, of such a doctrine. Angels were a unique creation which God created before He created mankind, and we are a unique creation completely separate from angels (1 Corinthians 4:9, Hebrews 2:5-9,16, 2 Peter 2:10-11).

Like humans, there are both elect and non-elect angels (1 Timothy 5:21, 2 Peter 2:4, Jude 1:6). Hebrews 1:14 says, "... ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation."

However, the Bible does inform us that "... some people have entertained angels without knowing it" (Hebrews 13:2). I believe that this happened on at least one occasion, as I have documented in my book, True Christianity.
